The Band
J.R. Rose - When you listen to the music made by Rocky Creek Band, you will notice a smooth voice ringing out from the speakers. This is the voice of lead vocalist, J.R. Rose. J.R. has the ability to go from baritone to tenor so fast that it does not even sound like the same person. J.R. started playing in junior high school with Minds Eye. Later he performed with Raindance (not the car wax), Country Oasis, and the Texas Roughcut Band. Being a local musician has not always been the case for J.R. He has performed at Harrah's, The Aladdin and The Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. He has also performed at the Country Music's Fan Fair in Nashville. Not only does J.R. sing, but he also provides the rhythm in the background coming from his acoustic guitar. J.R.'s musical influences include Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, George Strait, the Beatles and Garth Brooks.¨
Michael 'Tiggrr' Paul - Tiggrr has been around the music scene for more than 27 years, as a Lead and Bass guitarist as well as a drummer/percussionist. Tiggrr has played with rock, blues, R&B bands and various Country acts around the country including Kson Flatbed Show southern california), Johnny Lee, Shooter, Rock Steady, and Double Trouble just to name a few. After spending 10 years in Las Vegas working major entertainment venues and spending lots of time on the road this talented and versatile musician has decided to settle down here in the Houston area. Listen to his many vocal styles and finger action and you will be amazed.¨
Rick Bode -Keeping those low-end frequency sounds coming at you is none other than Rick Bode. The Houston born and bred bass man started playing when he was 16 and never quit. He turned his unwavering love of music into an art form and has been playing professionally for more than twenty years. His repertoire includes songs from the super rock groups of the 60's and 70's, today's up and coming rock artists, blues and jazz, as well as classic country and today's progressive country tunes. Rick has been intimately involved with bands such as Second Chance, Dry Goods, Lisa Cole & Buffalo Speedway, Riverside and Brandon Sandifer and played with bands opening for performers such as Jerry Jeff Walker, Mark Collie, Mark Chestnut and Omar and the Howlers. Recently he was involved with the Montgomery County Theatre Project production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, which premiered at Alley Theatre. From classic rock to blues to jazz to country, Rick is the "Whiz" at bringing out the bass groove which keeps us dancing the night away!¨
Terry Summers - The timing of Terry is what keeps the rhythm section of The Rocky Creek Band flowing smoothly. Terry is an expert in Percussion (some folks call it drums). His Mom first knew he was going to be a drummer when she found him on the kitchen floor with several of her pots and pans just pounding away. Terry has over 30 years of experience playing drums for various acts including the "Martels" in Michigan in 1971, a Top 40 dance band. He went on to form "Harvest" in 1974 and toured in the Detroit area for 5 years. After that he had the honor of playing in a Country and Western group with the late great Ray Scaerce, Hall of Fame steel guitarists. Terry's musical influences go all the way back to Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. Later Terry was hooked on the Harmonies of the 1970's rock group "America". Since moving to Texas, Terry has picked up on the great country sound produced by George Strait, Mark Chestnut, and Tracy Lawrence. ¨
